Kristof Thomas (°1995, Belgium) tackles the limits of the medium of photography in his playful discourse. Visual codes and patterns emerge through the elaborations of his manufactured images, which he constantly re/deconstructs. In this way, he questions the habits of popular visual culture and the way we look at things. Besides his own fabricated imagery, found images or other materials/objects also appear. Often the works are laden with unconcealed manipulations, physical or digital. The manipulations can be seen as absurd traits or dimples that make our way of looking at things stray from the ‘normal’. Kristof she practice consists of both spatial and flat works.
